Back Pain Relief in Edgware, Mill Hill and Stanmore, North London

We Take Back Pain Seriously!

man with back painWhen you have a problem with your back it does not simply produce back pain. At SpineLab, Carl Irwin and his team take back pain very seriously. Often it may cause other symptoms, than just back pain, in different or unrelated areas such as the buttocks, groin, hips, and legs (commonly called sciatica) and may if left develop into more chronic problems.

Problems in the spine and neck can also cause symptoms such as dizziness, headaches, clicking jaw, pins and needles and many more. Indeed research has shown that problems related to the back pain may affect over 60% of the UK’s population at some stage in their lives.

Chiropractors at the SpineLab Clinic are trained professionals who are skilled in diagnosing and treating such problems as back pain, including those of a more acute nature which may require further investigation or referral if necessary. We are able to organise x rays, MRI scans and specialist referrals for back pain that is not of a simple form.

Many thousands of people currently consult chiropractors every working day many of these are referred by their GP for back pain relief.

NICE (the National Institute of Clinical Excellence) guidelines recommend manipulative therapies including chiropractic for the treatment of back pain.

Preventing Back Pain

When young, the body can adapt easily to the stress and strain it is put under. As it grows older (over 25 years!) it begins to lose some of the elasticity which gives the body the flexibility to cope and adapt. In particular this applies to the discs between the vertebrae and the joint cartilage. These require regular movement to ensure their maximum range of motion and thereby maintain nerve function to the body.
